Competitive hiring intelligence
Competitive hiring intelligence is the practice of tracking a defined set of companies — competitors, acquirers, portfolio companies, or target accounts — by the roles they are actively hiring for. Where a headcount chart says a company grew last quarter, competitive hiring intelligence says which functions it is investing in right now, role by role.
Headcount totals are a lagging, coarse view: they tell you a company got bigger, months after the fact, without saying where. The open reqs are the leading, specific view. A competitor that suddenly opens six enterprise account-executive roles is telling you it is moving upmarket; one hiring its first compliance lead is telling you which market it plans to enter. That is legible role by role, in real time.
Because the input is the same req-level buying signal, competitive hiring intelligence is just hiring-intent data pointed at a named watchlist instead of a whole market — the accounts you already care about, monitored by the roles they open rather than by press releases about them.
